This auction was pretty exciting. The crowd was very large and motivated. The phone lines were very busy and there were a great deal of absentee bids. Prices started strong and got higher as the auction progressed. The result was a gross of $4.3 million, 35% above estimate. This was the 2nd highest grossing decoy auction ever. The McCleery sale in 2000 was the highest.
